Morning Blues

Its 6 o clock in the morning and I hear a distant sound. It is a very familiar sound.. The sound gets louder and clearer...where have I heard it? Oh no! its my phone trying had to awaken me from my deep slumber. I switch off the alarm and snooze for a while and then..again my phone starts to buzz.. This goes on for a while .. the battle between my alarm and sleep ..zzzz..Finally I get out of bed..reluctantly.. waking up to another day of boredom...

I wake up with this song running in my head..
I want to live, like animals
Careless and free
I want to run through the jungle
With wind in my hair and sand in my feet..(Savage Garden)

Ah! How I wish I could be that way. Sometimes I wish I never grew up. Just being that 'whining' school girl, dragging myself to school in the mornings with pigtails and a lunch bag.. ( school bag wasnt really important was it?:D). Those were the days when going to school so much more than just studying, going to school meant meant fun . Each day brought new things..new friends, new fights, new topics to discuss, new lessons to be learnt.

As we grow up, more so once we start working, somehow we lose it all-the want to make friends, to talk for hours on the most tivial of things, to fight and to learn. Yes, we are now grown ups and we must act our age..Now all we do is to go on planned outings( team outings), play planned games(team games) and do planned stuff and talk about planning and the planned..The uncertainty that was there when we were kids is now replaced by this more mature way - 'planning'.. But it takes away the thrill of meeting each challenge that a new day brings with it.
I dont think we will ever be able to act like kids anymore but I guess we can still pamper the child in us.. So be yourself, quit planning and enjoy each day for what its worth. After all Life is short....

PS: All this sounds good in theory but its never gonna work I know.. so I guess its back to being our usual self..sigh...Back to work.. mails, meetings and management...

Monday blues - Seems to be the buzz word today. Everyone, atleast most people, including me face this syndrome. I think it is mainly because people no longer enjoy the work they do. Most specialise in their field of interest but finally end up in one of those s/w companies. Getting up in the morning after coming home coupla hours back (Or sometimes not coming home at all) , boarding a bus half asleep for a ride through the heavenly streets, working in a so called cubicle unaware of what's happening outside, long working hours (This is different from the effective working hours ;)), Stress, deadlines doesn't help the cause either. But again as u say no use complaining, rather we could try changing our lives. So "Choose a Job u love else love the job u chose" (This is a Punch Dialogue..So use proper intonation while reading :)). Have a great day...Celebrate work :-P

I know...Mum used to hurl me, my legs kicking as I howled, into the auto that took kids by the kilo to school. But once you're inside the tears dry quickly and it's all forgotten. Then there are important things to do, like playing book-cricket, throwing chalk, taking chalk-revenge, scribbling on desks and making tamarind balls during the break. Office is just...so stuffed and lifeless. But some things don't change though. In my office canteen I caught one senior consultant peering at the tiffin box of another, sheepish about his own rice-&sambhar. People are at their cubicles but at the bottom of the screen is cricinfo.com, slyly opened every fiften minutes. Another senior account manager stopped for a moment at a glass door, checking her earrings' reflection. And maybe the best managers are those who think like kids instead of regimenting themselves...Take all the things that separate the adult in you from the child, and see how many you'd want to let go of...

In school we played book cricket..At ofiz we watch online cricket..At school we played musical chairs..At ofiz We do play musical chairs of a differnt kind.. Outlook, Cricinfo.com and w3scools.com (For emergency purposes) are 3 windows that ought to be at ur task bar...U cud add a few more depending on ur priorities...With plenty of young ppl (both guys and good looking gals :D)of ur same age group and at most time ur own college mates arnd corporate life isn't all that dull atleast for the time being...

P.S: I intentionally avoided speaking abt my work as i felt it wud spoil my good mood
