Mr.Yellow and Mr.Orange

Have you heard of a Mr.Yellow or a Mr.Orange..

I was vetti at home on Saturday when I was thinking about the next Sari that I am gonna buy.. When I was thinking about the colour I saw an Ad on TV.. It flashed Mr.White on the screen..

I was just wondering.. Well, I have heard of a Mr.White, a Mr.Blue(Okay tho soap ad nu nineikarein.. freeya vidunga pa), Mr.Brown, Mr.Green but never a Mr.Yellow or Mr.Orange. .. Why are they partial to only the basic colours?

I have heard of girls being named Violet, Purple or pink( read pinky) but no orange.. hmm.. y? Isnt that a nice name? When u can name a person Violet, why not orange.. Maybe magenta would also be good. I wonder if there was a reason behind this..

N e wayz.. just suggesting new names here instead of the traditional Krishna, Rama, Govinda :)

PS: Arbit rambling.....dont ask what I was thinking when I wrote this :)

well they are not named after colors or flowers etc...but some bengali nicknames are totally ridiculous, few which are on my mind now: jhuku, mum, bumba, babai, mani, etc etc.....

Very similar to how we name humans as Kaala(bull), annakili, mayil, kuyil etc and how we name animals as mani, ramu, muthu etc.. No reasoning for the names..

As shakespeare said "What's in a name?"...

Well, I guess me and Kaushik Ramu (better to say, Kaushik Ramu once dragged me !) to a play called Blackbird 13. And there there is a Professor (gee..she was HOT ;) !) who says - What if on each alternate day we went on replacing "A" with "B", "B" with "C" etc etc in every word we have...then would any word really make sense to us :P !

BTW, there is an outlet called Mr. Orange in B'lore where they serve you pure orange juice without sugar or water :D

And of names, the one I remember best is that of the immigration official who nearly made me faint. Ms. BLACK-MAN (that hyphen is mine :) !) A woman named BLACK MAN :)) !! Now whats the logic ??

@Neema - Arbit comment for an arbit post .. Thanx !!

@Sujit - me grinning...

@Kaushik - That starts me thinking on a new topic for a blog :D

@Karthik - true.. but name is what identifies you as a separate entity.. a different, thinking being...

@Mr.Seagull - What happend to Kaushik Ramu.. has he stopped blogging forever?

'Professor' - ha ha.. good point there. But I think they will still be words which others cannot understand.. I used to have a code language which only i knew.. now I dont even remember it.. :(

Cool so there is a Mr. Orange .. I will definitely make it a point to go there when I go to bang..

Logic in names.. I am not looking for it. But I was just wondering why we only choose a subset of words to name people..

Hahah...whats the use of having a code language which only you can understand :D !??

Yes, like "Ash"(win) [i got the braces wrong i think] i am also wondering...how are you able to think like this ?? Daily daily shirshasanam (standing on head) pannuviya ?? I think there is too much of blood running into your brain...thats why you are seeing Red/Orange etc etc :P !

You can write that as your next blog - "Explaining my thought process". BTW, once Wipro people asked me that in my autumns interview. Don't ask me what I told them :P
